The first step to anything is believing.

I see how we live today. With our smartphones glued to our faces, AI “helping” every thought and action we make, and people becoming “brainrot”. With everything needing to “look cool” and be shared and be “cinematic”. And to top it off: The state of ownership nowadays. Most things now, you cannot touch, with digital books, digital films and digital music. If you are lucky, you have it in a file per se, but most of the time, if you stop paying a company, you will lose access to it and sharing it with your family is off the table, of course. What ta fuck. We are now livestock, and if our money is not enough, our attention is the next target, with whole companies working every day to trap you, to make you more addicted to them.
Because of these things, my love goes to the anti-system, the DIY, the weird, the long walks in nature, the smell of grass and the simple and the real day-to-day life.

When we are young, everything is possible and the days are felt; now everything feels so virtual, airy and without form. I want to make my own life, get my hands dirty creating it, and it will be imperfect for fucking sure, but it will be real. This is why I am tough about this project.
The name explains it a bit, and the amount of hours I have spent trapped in the naming part is insane. Really. And while I believe everything can change as you go, and the name of a project is no exception, I also like meaningful things, and “Put More Sal” got to me; it is an ACTION that derives from the idea that Salt gives taste to things, it adds flavour to any food. A thing that, in some sense, I see missing in my life and the world around me.

Sal is Salt in português, btw.

Going a little personal, I am currently on a path that I don’t really enjoy. In my second year of a PhD, I live abroad, and while on paper it was a good opportunity, more and more it feels like a waste of my time. It pays my bills, renews my visa, and in some sense, it’s an interesting job, and I know a lot of people would love to be in my shoes, but it does not fulfil me, and I want something that does.

At the end of this rant, what I need to say, mostly to my future reference, is: It all starts with a desire to MAKE things that help me live the way I want to. Practical and with depth. “Totems” and wearable manifestos for the life I want and the desire to share it and connect with my kind of people. While I don’t believe in magic potions, I hope this helps me with that, a place to organise chaos and provide direction and a home.

Warning to the stranger:

English is not my first language, and while I always try to make my message clear, I like to use some wrong words and misspell things. iT will happen and is on purpose.
